Blue Spirulina Cloud Matcha

What you need:

1 tsp (2–3g) Gua Cha matcha
60 ml hot water (~80°C)
120–150 ml milk of choice (oat or almond works best)
½ tsp blue spirulina powder
1–2 tbsp warm milk (for dissolving spirulina)
Ice
Whisk (or frother), bamboo spoon, glass tumbler

What you do:

Sift the matcha. Keep the base clean and smooth.
Add hot water and whisk in a quick zig-zag until lightly frothy.
In a small bowl, dissolve blue spirulina in warm milk until fully smooth and vividly blue.
Froth the remaining milk until airy and cloud-like.
Fill your glass with ice and pour in the matcha.
Gently spoon or pour the blue spirulina milk foam on top to create a soft cloud layer.

Sip slowly. Earthy matcha underneath, airy colour and calm above.

🧠 Pro tip:
Blue spirulina is visual first, flavour second. Keep it light so it adds colour and softness without overpowering the matcha.
